When packing for a rally, we tend to think of the main essentials only such as clean socks, underwear, toothbrush and paste and clothing. While these are all very necessary items, there are a few other items that can make your whole rally experience A LOT easier!
They say preparation is the key to success, and preparation sure goes a long way to a comfortable rally experience. First up on our list of essential items that-you-might-not-have-thought-of are:
You may be expecting some hairy weather and even some rain, but more often than not, when outon the road exploring, you may encounter unseasonably warm or sunny weather. Sunblock is a life saver in this case! It takes up hardly any space in your bag, so it’s definitely worth popping into your luggage.
2. Wet Wipes.
I have never been to a rally where I didn’t think to myself: “I wish I had wet wipes in my bag!”. From messing food and drink on oneself, to wiping riding gloves grime off your hands before a meal right down to wiping the occasional toilet seat, wet wipes are an absolute lifesaver!
Easy to assume that every bar is willing to run a tab, or has card machine facilities that never falter, but having a small amount of cash on you always helps! Rather have the peace of mind that you can enjoy your time on the road despite technological disruptions.
4. Copy of the rally program
Having a copy of the rally program on you at all times ensures that you don’t miss out on any of the fun activities planned for the day! That way you can choose what to participate in, and plan your day ahead.
5. Lip ice.
It goes without saying: a lot of laughter and a few drinks can really dry a person’s lips out! And no- one wants to be the guy risking cold sores by borrowing another person’s chap-stick. It’s small, easily transportable and very necessary! This one is a no-brainier.
We look forward to seeing you (and your essentials) at the West Coast Rally in October! Be sure to book if you haven’t yet:
